The Perfect Day in San Francisco
SF is the perfect weekend getaway. The fabulous weather and even better food means there’s something for everyone in this hilly city! So grab your best walking sneakers and let’s go!
1-Day Self-Guided Bike Tour of San Francisco
I think one of the best ways to see SF is on bike. You can go at your own pace and still see a lot without killing your feet on the pavement. Ensure your bike has gears (and use them!) and you should be good to go. Don’t forget water! There are 2 grocery stores located on this route, one on the edge of the Presidio and the other just across the Fulton near the Dutch Windmill. Once you get into Haight there will be tons of places to stop for a meal but if you cant make it that long, I recommend stopping for a snack or packing something light.
Eating & Drinking
Yelp as usual is your most reliable friend, but here are a few spots I always want to return to when I’m in town. SF is a great place for comfort food, even if its not the southern kind!
Chinatown in SF is one of the best spots in the US for dumplings (in my opinion) so just get your yelp out and go nuts if you’re in the mood for Chinese. The port also has surprisingly, reliably good seafood. I love Boudin’s Bakery, their clam chowder in bread bowl is the most quintessential the Bay Area. A few of my favorite spots sadly have closed (RIP General Bao) but at the time of posting a few are still around: Bouche (French), Eno Wine Bar, 1428 Haight Patio & Crepery, The Bird, Fig & Thistle, The Snug, The Social Study, Upcider, Sears Fine Food (a SF institution), Golden Coffee Shop (Diner) and Smitten Ice Cream.
