Hoi An, Vietnam

This adorable colonial town was the perfect weekend getaway from Hong Kong. Walkable, historic and full of delicious bahn mi’s this is a spot you don’t want to miss!

Hoi An, Vietnam in 3 days!

Vietnam was my favorite country on my trip! I hope one day I get to go back and explore more of the country,

Day 1: Arrival to the Da Nang International Airport. Transfter to Hoi An (30 mins by cab, should cost about ~ $15 USD), Tailor, Food Tour, Night Market

Day 2: Exploring Old town and the beach! We also had 2 fittings this day.

Day 3: Pick up tailoring and any other final Hoi An stops!

FOOD: Bah Mi Queen, Hoi An Smoothie, The Expresso Station, White Marble Wine Bar, The Hill Station, Nhà hàng Năm Giã (lunch on the beach)

ACTIVITIES: An Báng Beach, Food Tour, Bao Diep (Custom Tailor), Old City Tour, $5 pedicures Hi Nails

CUSTOM CLOTHES: Hoi An is known for cheap customwear. We walked into the place recommended by our hostel host (yes I know everything online says to shop around, go outside of the tourism center, etc. but following this rec was just easy and even though I’m sure we paid more than we would have elsewhere, my friend and I had a really awesome experience and 10/10 would do it again) When we walked into the Bao Diep shop, we were ushered to a little bench seat and handed iPads (!) opened to the Pinterest app (!) and told to just look around at stuff and then let them know when we’ve found something we liked (!). I got 2 dresses ($50/$60) and a matching pair of shorts ($40) based on 2 separate photos of the cover of vintage clothing patterns and my friend got 2 Reformation look-alike dresses ($60 each). We had the initial meeting/measurement, then came back the next day at 11am, then again at 5pm, then the third day at 9am and around 3pm to do the final pick up. The more fittings you can squeeze in, the better your finished garment will look.
